Who we are
13th Beach Marketing is an Australian company based in Torquay, Victoria, just near Geelong. We use many talented associates to design and build our wordpress websites.
Early days
We started in Barwon Heads many years ago. Just down the road from 13th Beach – a popular surf beach, but a great place to walk. So we used the name in our business. We like surf beaches. We did try Ballarat for a year or so, but it was just too cold and too far away from any real water. We still work with our clients in Ballarat and enjoy visiting them.
Now
We now work in Torquay on Victoria’s coast, just a short walk from the beach and a few kilometres from the town centre. While it’s a long way to Melbourne or to some of our clients, we trade the travel time against living on the coast. We meet with our clients in their offices, or offsite at another pleasant location nearby.
Talent
We use talented people, individuals who want to work differently, who are creative and who freely and comfortably work with others, but for themselves. Whatever the job, we choose the right team of people to work on our client’s projects. We look for designers who know wordpress or magento, understand colour, and layout. But most important they can add to the job, not just do the job.
Our approach
While creative, we have a solid understanding of business. We are marketing people with heart and community bent, truly. Our client is the focus of our work and what they want to achieve. We start by identifying their strategic focus, or help them develop one. Conversations with clients involve questions such as: What do you want to do? What does that mean? What does it look like? What are the possibilities?
We spend a bit of time working with our clients before we start on their project. But if they know what they want, then it’s a quicker process. If you want to explore what could be, allow some time for this. We just don’t make websites out of context.
Stimulating the creative
We like mind-maps to help us think about things. We like colors and shapes. Symbols. Words and content. Ideas. We want to share and create communities, or create a Tribe (Seth Godin). This takes a lot of work and time. So no overnight sensations.
WordPress lets you do lots of this. Fast, easy to update, and pretty neat.

We’ve designed wordpress sites for several manufactures, clubs, not-fo-profits, artists, psychologists, motels, marketing consultants and lots more.
